CERTIFICATE OF PROCLAMATION

On behalf of the citizens of Michigan, I Governor Jennifer M. Granholm, do hereby proclaim the week of November 22, 2009, AMERICA’S CHRISTIAN HERITAGE WEEK.

Whereas, This year marks the 17^th annual nationwide observance of America’s Christian Heritage Week, which was first introduced by the United States House of Representatives August 11, 1992; and,

Whereas, The influence of Christianity upon American communities is evident by the presence of many churches, Christian charities, ministries, missions, schools, and holiday seasons; and,

Whereas, Churches nationwide are encouraged to celebrate America’s Christian Heritage Week by hosting Sunday school lessons, sermons, youth programs, patriotic song services and prayer meetings;

Now, Therefore, be it Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, governor of the state of Michigan, do hereby proclaim the week of November 22, 2009, American Christian Heritage Week in Michigan. I encourage the residents of the state of Michigan to participate in this observance.
