America’s Christian Heritage Week commemorates the rich Christian heritage of America.

For more than four centuries, the teachings of the Bible and Christianity, and the influence of historic Christian leaders, have had a dramatic positive impact on the nation, its culture, and its institutions. America’s Christian Heritage Week celebrates those accomplishments.

On this website you will find hundreds of proclamations that have been issued by governors, mayors, and other leaders declaring official recognition for Christian Heritage Week. You will also discover what you can do to have leaders declare a Christian Heritage Week in your state, county, or city. Christian Heritage Week is usually recognized in the fall but, because school schedules vary from state to state, this week is not the same for every state. If you are considering a time in the fall, we recommend the week before or after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving week is usually a shortened school week for schools because of the holiday and because there is such rich history and so many stories we think it is best to allow schools to have a full week to teach about America’s Christian Heritage!

You will also find five daily lessons about America’s Christian heritage that can be used in schools, civic clubs, churches, political venues, or any other setting. Whether it is a five-minute lesson for public schools, or a three-hour long lesson for private individuals, the content is available on this website.

Lessons

These five lessons document America’s Christian heritage in five eras of America’s four-century-long history. Each is downloadable and is free for use by schools, civic groups, citizens, churches, or any other group or venue. Students and citizens will be inspired by the abundant documentation of the profound positive influence of Christianity and the Bible on our institutions, culture, and heritage.
